21 Days of Prayer – He Does Not Faint

Have you not known?  Have you not heard? Yahweh is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth, He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable.
Isaiah 40:28 (LEB)

Fainting is something that happens quite often and to anyone, not just the elderly or to persons with underlying health conditions. A perfectly healthy individual can faint for various reasons, including exhaustion. It is this word, faint from weariness that Yahweh uses to describe the state of His people as He offers them help. Leading to one of the more popular verses in the bible “They that wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31) It is one of the most encouraging scriptures especially for the believer in waiting.

But before the word comes to the people, with the promise of strength to the weak and weary, our Father describes himself as the everlasting God who does not faint. This is encouraging, because the one who strengthens the weary never tires and knows the need of the fainting soul. To faint is described as briefly losing consciousness and posture. It is true one rarely faints and remains upright. So our Father assuring us that He does not lose consciousness or posture should encourage us in our weakness and waiting.

David concurs when he says, “Behold He that keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps” (Psalm 121:4). Yahweh does not nod off, His understanding therefore – his awareness is past finding out, we cannot fathom not being tired because we are human. But that is what our Father guarantees, His posture remains the same from eternity, this is why the angels continue to cry “holy, holy, holy” because his posture of holiness is unending. He remains upright and true. True to His character, true to His word. He does not faint.

Instead He guarantees the faint, another level of power, a renewal of strength that replenishes the human physical weakness and restoration of the inner man.

Today we return to the steadfast God, Yahweh for strength, vigor, ability to produce and to prosper, He is the source of all that is faithful.

Read: Isaiah 40

Write: In what way does the strength of Father Yahweh keep you upright? Is there a sense of faintness in your life or in the life of others you know? Write them a note, reminding them of the unfailing love and power of our Father.

Pray: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication.
Thank you father that even though the young and strong can and will faint, you never faint.  You never lose sight of your people and you never get weary.  We praise you that you are the perfect example of steadfastness and faithfulness.  Your posture remains upright.  Therefore, we look to you for strength and for the inspiration and hope to rise above the current circumstances and to soar as an eagle.  Help us to endure and to produce even in our waiting, to be renewed even now and continue to walk with You to the end of this journey.
