Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch out your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
Isaiah 54:2 NIV
The imagery in the verse above speaks to and gives a command of expectation of expansion. The prophecy is one of change and restoration for Israel, being told to act in anticipation of a promise fulfilled. While they had tents, with wide curtains, being held down by strong stakes, their current dwellings would be insufficient and inadequate to maintain and secure the coming expansion. So they are told that with great joy (see verse 1) they should get ready for greater and not to wait for the evidence, but to make preparations.
After three weeks of earnest prayer and fasting, we expect answers and believe for the opening of the gates of heaven on our lives and territory. If we truly believe this, we must start rejoicing and making room already. When we pray, we believe for answers that will result in great change. Change is here. It begins with joy and rejoicing at the promise of a Faithful Father, who has listened to the cry of His people and will respond with an outpour of His Spirit, to fill the prepared vessels to the overflowing.
Are you ready? Have you made room – evicting the freeloading tenants of unbelief and complacency, decluttering anxious minds, dispossessing fear, shame and condemnation and throwing out old and tattered garments of heaviness and excuses? If you have made room for the newness, He will come in and fill the ready hearts and homes, we will not be ashamed, because His promise is true. There will continue to be turmoil in this world, but read verse 10: “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says Yahweh who has compassion on you. We will build and grow, overcoming what buffets us and destroying opposition through His Holy Spirit. We will expand in the places where hills have been brought down and stand strong without losing our ground because our stakes are anchored in the Word of Yahweh.
Do not sit with your hand at your cheek or arms folded, waiting for change to come. Change is here. Let your joy be full and your testimony be heard in the sanctuary, for Yahweh has heard us and He has begun a new thing in our hearts and lives. There is a shift in our Spirit and in the posture of our heart, a change in our mindset, changes in our perspective and expectation and change in our speech and language. Sing and rejoice and make room for change.
